Quebec - Je me souviens

We will always remember our trip to Quebec city in Sept 2009. The fall colours on the drive up from southwest Ontario were awesome. I have recently been able to complete this series of layouts so will be posting one every few days.

One of our first adventures(besides the food!!) was the St Lawrence River. Such history and right here in Quebec City, it pretty much hangs in the air! Along the Boulevard de Champlain, which runs right beside the river, you can actually walk down steps right into the river itself. To touch the river and earth where the great heroes of the birth of our nation may have trod was inspiring.

My fiancee is from England so this is all new to him but here he is experiencing a major piece of Canadiana!

Been on Vacation

Haven't posted in a bit but I have been on vacation and working away at getting photos so I can do more layouts. At the beginning of the month, I spent my first time ever at Niagara Falls on the American side - what does this have to do with scrapping Canada - think of it as seeing the one thing you are totally familiar with from the total opposite side - there will need to be a layout From the Outside Looking In - stay tuned!!!

Hamilton Ontario - The City of Waterfalls

So apparently there are about 50 Waterfalls within 30 to 60 mins of Kitchener-Waterloo. In September 2009, Ian and I took a road trip to try to find some of these Waterfalls. Google Hamilton The City of Waterfalls and try to find your way around them - I warn you though, it isn't always easy.

We were lucky enough to find Webster's Falls and Tew's Falls on our way home from trying to find an elusive Fifty Point area Waterfalls. But more on that in another post.

When we got to the Conservation Area we started walking the wrong way out of the parking area and followed the sound of the river around to the other side and came in sight of this beautiful scene. You can go down a staircase to the bottom of the falls if you want (going down probably not so difficult but climbing up - not at the end of the day sadly for me!) On the way out, we noticed a sign for Tew's Falls - another equally beautiful Falls but very different.

The Escarpment holds lots of beautiful sights - get out there and Take a Hike!

A new blog for Canadian Scrappers to Scrapbook about Canada

Hello Scrappin' Canucks!!

I thought it would be cool to start a new blog about all the things Canadian we scrapbook about - from sea to sea to sea!!!

I love travelling in this great country and I love all the things that we are uniquely Canadian for so this will be something of a diary of sorts of my travels in this great country.

I live in Ontario but Nova Scotia will always be home to me. Lots of family still live there. I have an Aunt and cousins in the Yukon and a brother in Edmonton so we are kinda spread out.

I would love for you to link your Canadian travel layouts (home or away) to this blog and share some of your own stories.

I am going to start off with a layout honouring my little granddaughter with a pic taken on Canada Day at the festivities in New Hamburg, ON.

Show me your Canada day layouts!!
