Clifton Hill - Like a Tourist, almost!

Happy Sunday everyone!

I am still working on my September 2017 trip pages.  I am finishing up some Niagara Falls pages (just a few more to go).

One of the things I have never really found too appealing is Clifton Hill, in the high summer, with thousands of tourists.  Since it was late season, although still very hot, we decided to amble around the hill area and do some of the touristy photo ops!  We didn't go tourist all the way though, as we didn't enter any of the museums.  Maybe next trip we'll pick one or two.

Our room faced the direction of Clifton Hill, so I included a large photo as the title photo, like a postcard and then filled in the two pages with 3.5" by 5.5" photos of the various shots.  I had lots more but these are the ones I liked the best!

I used up some recently retiring Stampin' up papers as well as some very old Stampin' Up papers.  I also used my very last tiny scrap of Basic Grey paper (I forget the name of the specific sheet but it is part of the Oliver line and was my fave ever).    The film strip tape is 5 years old and I am pretty sure I have never used it before (one of those things I just HAD to have!).

What is your fave memory of Niagara Falls?

Niagara Falls

Hi Everyone,

I love Niagara and so does my British husband, so everytime we go home to Ontario, we try to spend some time there.  I know it is always full of tourists but there is something majestic about the Falls that I just love.

I am working through my September 2017 visit home and we spent my husband's birthday with our good friends taking in the sights (and yes the Casino!).

Here is a layout I did of the Falls during the day using old Stampin' Up (SU) retired and some glitter texture paste to echo that huge spray!  It was a very hot day and the spray felt really good as it landed on your skin, instantly cooling you off.  I also use some (SU) Memories and More cards to use for the sentiments.

I would love to see your pages of Niagara!

Back in the Blogging Saddle!

6 Years!  I can't believe it has almost been 6 years since I blogged!  I have been scrapping some photos from our last visit home to Canada.  We did a week in Ontario for some family events and then 2 weeks in Alberta (our first time but not the last!)

Part of the trip was a wee visit to Niagara Falls to celebrate my hubby's birthday.  It is one of our fave places for an overnight getaway and we got to meet up with our Best Man and Maid of Honour for 2 days of fun at the same time.

I am using up some perfect retiring SU product on a lot of these pages as I go (and whatever else is in my stash that suits).

Here are the first couple of Niagara Falls and environs pages

We decided a round of mini-golf (in 34 degree weather) was in order at Dinosaur World.

No trip to Niagara is complete without viewing the Falls.  I am actually also stitching a Niagara Falls piece by John Clayton that is the left side of the top photo!  This one was playing with some texture paste and sparkle.

That's it for today!  I will try to keep this updated weekly, as long as the pages hold out!  Dream In Colours and Happy Scrapping!

Team Canada Football

When the Women's Football team made it to the Semi-Final game, and it was at Old Trafford, we decided to see if we could get tickets.  And we did!

The whole Olympic experience has been wonderful but to cheer on my team in person was UNBELIEVABLE!

It is unfortunate that there was controversy about the game (refereeing in particular) but it was wonderful.  Team Canada would lose the game but then would go on to win Bronze.  I am so proud of them.

Here is the first layout in that series that I am working on for my Olympics album.

Olympics 2012

Have you been cheering on Team Canada at the Olympics?  I have!  It is so exciting to be here in Great Britain during the Olympics.

One of the benefits of being such a small nation, is that the Olympic Games are happening all over the country, not just in London.  What does that mean for me - well just wait and see!

For now, I have completed some of the prepping for the Olympics layouts to share with you!

As you may remember on July 1, we went to Trafalgar Square in London for the day.  They had an Olympic Countdown timer and I HAD to have my picture taken with it!

I am doing an album about the Olympics and this is one of my pages.

We sent gifts home to Canada for the wonderful little people in our lives!  They were thrilled and I got some pictures back so I added a double page layout to my Olympic album of our Canadian contingent. They are solid gold in our books.

The medals are Cadbury chocolate and the books are appropriate age reading material regarding the London 2012 Olympics.  My eldest granddaughter Chloe was so excited that Canada won a Gold medal in trampolining!

On Saturday August 4th, we went to old Trafford to see Japan play Egypt in the Men's Quarter Final Football (Soccer) match.  The Canadian Women's team had beaten Team GB and were going to be playing in the Semi-Final at Old Trafford on Monday August 6.  So we got tickets!!!  But that is another post (I have to do the layout first)!

Canada Day layout - 2012

And here is the layout I quickly whipped up this morning using some old Canada papers from my stash and my fave pic of me.  The ribbon came from a friend on a goodbye gift when I was leaving Canada earlier this year, so I definitely wanted to use it.
